Manchester United win Champions League group in style

We had to rub our eyes when we first saw Manchester United's line-up for their Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow this evening. The answer to that question is almost certainly 'no, ' as Lindelof is now showing the kind of intelligent ability that led United to pay that much for him in the first place and drew comparisons with former United star and ex-Vidic partner, Rio Ferdinand.

De Gea was in inspired form to help United to a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, making no fewer than 14 saves - including a stunning double-stop to deny Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez - to keep the rampant hosts at bay.

He also got a red card against Arsenal and is expected to miss out on another three games as a penalty, including the Manchester City game on Sunday.

"He is very happy to play tomorrow", says Mourinho. The recovery allows him to be fit to play, but United has to take a measured approach with their veteran freak of nature.

Asked to provide a fitness update on his squad, Mourinho said at Old Trafford: "Do you want the truth?"

Pogba played one of his best games since he joined Manchester United in 2016. And while that's obviously still incredibly unlikely, the Red Devils will be furious at the manner in which they fell behind.

It appears that the Portuguese has completely lost faith in the young left-back, choosing to start Daley Blind instead.

Luke Shaw is Mourinho's other option, but he's fallen out of favour with the boss and it seems that there's little chance he'll get a run in the first team.

"But I think it doesn't matter the team we get in the draw".

Although CSKA dropped into the Europa League after Basel beat Benfica to join United in the last 16, the Russian side's manager Viktor Goncharenko said the Champions League campaign would serve his players well.

"The next match is the match that matters".
