Barcelona have acted on their long-standing interest in Yerry Mina, signing the defender from Palmeiras for a fee of €11.8m. ESPN FC's Sid Lowe reveals the three people he feels are most responsible for leading Barcelona to a nine-point lead in La Liga.

In its official statement, FC Barcelona reports that it has reached a transfer agreement with Palmeiras for €11.8 million.

The Colombian centre-back joins for the rest of the season and for five more to follow, and his deal has a €100m release clause attached.

Luan scored five goals in just two matches in the youth Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior, having previously turned plenty of heads with his scintillating displays for Brazil during 2017.

Barcelona has not yet announced the agenda of the events in which Yerry Mina will participate.

Mina arrives to provide competition for Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen in defence.

"Without a doubt the Colombian has the potential to make it". He won the Brazilian League in his first season.

The initial arrangement would have seen Barcelona pay the full fee up front - but the Nou Camp giants are now requesting the fee be paid in instalments.

The board asked Mascherano to stay at the club until Yerry Mina arrived.

But despite the issues the deal has been done with the club shop ready to print his shirts.
