Nintendo Gold Points Can Soon Be Used For Nintendo Switch Game Discounts

Domingo, 11 Feb, 2018

Starting in March, My Nintendo members will be able to put their gold points toward buying actual Switch games, a huge step up from the current rewards on offer. You can pay for some of the game or all of it with your Gold Coins.

The Nintendo Switch video game console was easily one of the biggest surprises of 2017.

Given these percentages, it is not difficult to conclude that users will need to spend a large amount of money to amass the amount of Gold Points necessary to purchase a brand new game. Then we build a forge, a place to cook food, and a bedroom to rest, and slowly our small community begins to take shape, quickly forcing us to cross the borders of our island to recover other materials with which to build other increasingly complex and useful rooms. I have a gazillion of those from playing Nintendo mobile games, but nothing to buy with them.

The My Nintendo page in the Europe has a bit more of a breakdown regarding how this will work.

There is no word yet on the ability to redeem Platinum Points for anything on the Switch, but Nintendo will probably add this feature some point down the road, as many people still earn and use Platinum Points daily.

Similarly, the huge number of quests (which surprisingly makes the length of this game similar to the Dragon Quest JRPG games - around 100 hours) moves the focus away from mere exploration.

According to the page, 1 gold point will be equal to €.1 EUR ($.12 USD) and to obtain them it will be necessary to buy content in the eShop.
