Patrice Evra set for a Premier League return

The 36-year-old left-back, who made over 350 appearances in an eight-year stint at Old Trafford, has signed a "short-term" contract at David Moyes' West Ham United - believed to run until the end of the season.

While that no doubt puts a damper on his career, he has spent time at some of the best clubs in the world.

The French side cast him out after he attacked a fan during a Europa League clash, for which he was also banned from all European competitions until the end of the season.

As per Turkish outlet Fotospor, former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri is in talks with Serie A side Benevento, and he is expected to link up with the bottomrock league strugglers soon.

PATRICE EVRA cannot hide his smile as he gets stuck in at West Ham training ahead of a Premier League return. Arthur Masuaku has played well in a more advanced position leaving Cresswell as the main left back for West Ham.

He told the club's website: "I have known the manager since we were in Manchester and since the first meeting we had there, we have been straight and honest and it was the same when I saw him on Tuesday, talking straight and honest". Evra won the Premier League on five occasions, the Champions League in 2008 and three League Cups. He was axed by the Ligue One following a physical altercation with one of the club's supporters.

West Ham are in the thick of the relegation battle. Entries sent in through agents or third parties will be disqualified.

Back in December, sources close to the player said coming back to England was not a consideration for the former France international. The winners agree to allow EA Sports to use their name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without renumeration.
